Paediatric Speech Pathologist starting January/Feb 2022

In 2022 Curious Kids is continuing to grow! We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun speech pathologist to join our team and be a part of this growth. If you are a keen, happy, confident therapist looking for a flexible, fun, team-focused position, then apply now!

Our clinic is located in The Cannery, Rosebery so we are surrounded by amazing food, coffee, pilates, gyms, brands, cakes, services… the list goes on! Our rooms have been purpose built and our resource room is fully stocked.

New graduates are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to begin in an Allied Health Assistant role prior to their tertiary registration being complete.

 

About Us:

Curious Kids – Speech, Language & Literacy provides speech therapy services to children up to 18 years of age in the Eastern Suburbs and Inner West of Sydney. We work from our beautiful clinic in a heritage listed building in Rosebery as well as visiting schools, preschools and homes to support our wonderful clients.

About the Role:

  • Your caseload will be varied and will include both clinic-based sessions and school/home/daycare visits. There may also be some telehealth opportunities.

  • The current caseload is a generalist paediatric caseload however you will have the opportunity to develop into an area of your interest

  • Full support and supervision will be provided in addition to professional development opportunities throughout the year.

  • We offer rates well above award in addition to allowances for travel, phone, resources and more.

  • Your caseload will grow during the role, allowing you time to build your skills and to use the supervision available.

  • We work closely within our small, supportive team with regular peer support and collaborative discussions.

  • Generous support for professional development opportunities (money and time!)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be providing assessment and intervention for toddlers, pre-schoolers and school-aged children with speech, language, literacy, fluency, and pragmatic difficulties;

  • You will communicate regularly with parents, teachers, school support staff, occupational therapists and other health care professionals;

  • You will prepare a wide variety of written materials, including reports, letters and resources;

  • You will help develop and run group programs;

  • You will have the opportunity to participate in community and business development activities.

 

About You:

We are looking for someone who is keen to be part of our team!

  • You are bright, cheerful and enthusiastic about supporting your clients.

  • You probably have a streak of perfectionism and an eye for detail.

  • You take direction well however you are also independent and proactive in your clinical skills.

  • You are eager to expand your knowledge base, using various sources to learn, learn, and learn some more. 

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification – or due to complete such by January 2022

  • Current Working With Children Check

  • Speech Pathology Australia membership with Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status (or eligibility to register upon graduation)

  • Eligibility for Medicare Provider Status

  • Willing to get Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance

  • Current NSW Driver Licence and use of own car

  • Own laptop
